ISM - Art Show by Tom Blanchard & Satoe Fukushima

Identity Politics is perhaps one of the most investigated theories in the art world. ISM, a show featuring two artists, approaches this very idea by working through similar methods with three different ideas: self-portrait, self-less portrait, and self-ish portrait. The show engages these two artists’ own struggles about their identities as well as the formation and deformation of the identities of all human beings. They seek to uncover possible answers by delving into aspects of spirituality, sexuality, power, and the wonderments of how others directly or indirectly have their identities created.
